Facebook has evolved significantly over the years, and with the introduction of Reels in 2024, many users are confused about the differences between Reels and regular feed videos — especially when it comes to downloading them for offline viewing.

Facebook Reels are short-form vertical videos (9:16 aspect ratio), typically ranging from 15 to 90 seconds in length. They're designed for mobile viewing and are displayed in a dedicated Reels tab. Regular Facebook videos, on the other hand, can be any length and aspect ratio — horizontal (16:9), square (1:1), or vertical — and appear in your news feed, on pages, and in groups.

When downloading with FastFB, the process is identical for both Reels and regular videos: copy the link and paste it on our site. However, there are some differences in the output. Reels are usually available in a single quality (optimized for mobile), while regular videos often have both SD (480p) and HD (720p/1080p) download options available.

File sizes also differ noticeably. A typical 30-second Reel is about 5-15 MB, while a 5-minute regular HD video can be 50-200 MB. Keep this in mind if you're on limited storage or mobile data. FastFB always shows you the available quality options before you download, so you can make an informed choice.

One important note: Reels shared from other users sometimes have restricted download links. If you encounter an error when trying to download a shared Reel, try finding the original Reel from the creator's profile and copying that link instead.
